The Teixeira Biscuit is originally from the parish of Teixeira, Baião, Europe, Portugal.
It is a rectangular-shaped cake with a compact consistency, not very sweet, with an intense and characteristic flavour, due to the use of lemon and, in some cases, cinnamon. It is usually sold at fairs and regional festivals throughout the country, and is known as "Doce da Teixeira" or "biscoito da Teixeira".
